ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Functional Philippine pottery never progressed beyond earthenware cookery. But in the province of kalinga up in the mountains, the wives of head hunter tribes from long ago would engrave their pots with geometric patterns similar to their warrior tattoos. This piece symbolizes that long gone craft unique to that mountain tribe.
