ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This vase, named after a street in Chicago, is a part of my "Cityscape" series, which I was inspired to create after moving to Chicago and living in a high-rise in the heart of the city. I wanted to capture the sharp edges and repetition found in urban architecture, while also maintaining the curves and softness of a wheel thrown vase. My work is intended to be modern and sophisticated, while blurring the line between function and sculpture.
