ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This piece is a salute to my early years. For those who grew up in the 50's, 77 Sunset Strip was a phenom and Edd Byrnes was one hip dude. He couldn't sing worth a damn but his song Kookie Kookie was a mega hit. In the lyrics Edd wanted someone to lend him their comb. Disgusting as that might seem, this piece pays homage to that comb. Kookie Kookie includes a removable base. The bottom 18” of the sculpture easily slides into the slotted base.
