LIGHT GROWTH X-61-X Sculpture

Organic and original are the forms and accents that combine to form a whole in this light sculpture from the Light Growth series. Towards the top, the sculpture grows into a voluminous shell in which an unusual "light fruit" has ripened. The primeval and the modern come together here - due to the unusual combination of materials, painting technique and formal language - consisting of intensive traces and strong relief-like parts. Through the very massive structures, earthy-beige, white-reddish colour nuances penetrate to the surface from all layers. A reddish ribbon-like segmentation in the structure reinforces the striking character. It is a powerful "maturing process". The thick light body in the upper area is layered several times alternately of acrylic and silicone and flexibly cured. This is removable for changing the LED bulb inside. When the light is switched on, there is a very light-intensive glow. The RGB light colour can be changed with a remote control. A part of the creative work is the reuse - upcycling - and reshaping of previously used plastics and materials. Kerstin Amend Pohlig is very concerned with giving value back to what has apparently become worthless - in unusual aesthetics with a lasting sense of purpose.
