About The Artwork

This torso has a lovely matte copper patina front, with the insides of the sculpture a shiny finish. The large key on her breast and metal bird cage on her hip are attached with old nails. The birds are attached on her bottom edges. This piece tells the story of wanting freedom, whatever your circumstances may be.

I am a California Sculptor/potter. I have had my hands in clay for over 20 years. Pottery involves vigilance.. tending and nurturing. It has given me a sense of purpose, and an anchor in my life. My work tells stories. They are my stories, but I like the viewer to see their own. Stories don't just entertain, they take you on a journey of discovery about yourself and world around you.
