About The Artwork
This is "Nicolas Pertusato" that composes the painting of Las Meninas by Velázquez and my interpretation is the following: His origin was noble he came from a Duchy of Milan. This let him enjoy a more privileged status than would be expected for a court dwarf. In fact, he came to be the king's cameraman. In the canvas, he is located in the foreground, to the right. As I saw it, his physical condition made him a second-rate character and that is why he follows the same model as María Bárbola, with the difference of the hairstyle that I have defined as feminine in the sculptures.
