I created this piece as part of my fall collection. The slate and ivory checkered abstract design flows through the sculptural texture, growing and shrinking in size to bring the viewers eye through the entirety of the piece. The paper, although delicate in design is sturdy, allowing the manipulated shapes to look as though they are dancing on the canvas while staying solidified in time. The 3D texture sits on a raspberry background and is framed in a black wood floater frame.

Macazlyn is a multidisciplinary artist and designer. She studied art and design and earned a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from Utah State University. She worked designing custom lighting and graphics at Kelly Wearstler in Los Angeles and high end residences at Alder and Tweed in Park City. While working in the Interior Design industry, Macazlyn became familiar with wall art within a space. There are so many interesting pieces throughout an interior space, but the thing she felt was lacking within the industry was sculptural and textured wall art. She began creating custom textured art with unexpected materials, formed in an interesting way. The 3D nature of her work creates a new experience for the viewer within a space.
