About The Artwork
When creating this mosaic I was contemplating the relation between light and dark. I named it Salieri because of the relationship Salieri, the composer, had with Mozart. Salieri was perhaps the only one who fully understood the genius and love that was in the music of Mozart. I only do mosaics I would like to have on my walls and this is definitely one of my own favourite pieces. The iron net embedded in the cement functions as an inner frame. When hanging the mosaic on a wall, the iron that surrounds it is strong enough to carry the weight of this large piece.

Alexandra was born 1972 in Stockholm, Sweden. Already as a child she knew that she would work with something creative when she grew up. As a 16 year old, she started an apprenticeship for a ceramist in wales, before that Alexandra worked as a sculptor's assistant where she polished diabase and granite sculptures amongst other chores. At the age of 19 she moved to Ravenna in Italy where she pursued an education to become a “mosaicista”, a mosaic artist. For the past 20 years she has had a numbers of exhibitions in Sweden, mainly at Galleri Eva Solvang in Stockholm. Alexandra won a painting competition in southern Sweden in 2016 with the painting "Alchemy". Her latest art exhibition took place in Lysekil, Sweden at Gallery Tint in June 2019.
