Sculpture inspired in the Kandinsky notion that music can be translated to visual elements. In the case of the work of Sandra Borges, it's the symbols used in writing music, to make it a visual recording, that are the focus. How these marks or symbols are arranged in the space of a music sheet can represent different sounds and combination. So to in the sculpture: the same shape arranged in different ways ways, with or without other elements, can report to different ideas, memories or concepts.

Sandra Borges is born in 1979 in Lisbon. The sculptor mostly based her work on human behavior. Sometimes looking through the stereotypes, sometimes through the eyes of a individual, it is always about how one's personality is formed and how one relates to the other and in society. Working only with Portuguese stone (marbles, limestone`s and breccia), she also mix it with other media if the idea demands it. The result is very personal way to make art objects that link the tradition of stone carving to other materials and plastic languages.
