ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Challenged, and then inspired to make a piece about camping and the great outdoors - I combined the basic shape of the olden day tents with my love of geometric form and mathematical aesthetics. Tent is both very classical and very modern at the same time. It pays homage to Classical Greek architecture and to Modern Minimalism. Tent is made from solid laminated hard poplar wood. It is primed and painted with enamel paint.

When form is reduced to geometric shapes, the basic elements of balance, harmony, and beauty are revealed. I'm interested in the interplay of form and space. I am interested in universal beauty. I studied Painting, Drawing and Sculpture at SUNY Purchase. I became greatly inspired by artists such as Frank Stella, Ellsworth Kelly, Donald Judd, Tony Smith, and Sol LeWitt, and the Minimalist Movement in Sculpture.
