ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"The Queen of Sheba - The Fragrant". (King Solomon's Wives series). About "King Solomon's Wives" series. An amazing combination of wisdom, lovefullness and tolerance glorified his name throughout the ages. Personally, I'm not shocked at all that he had 700 wives and 300 concubine. But the fact that he allowed them to continue to pray to their own gods and perform their very alien to him ceremonies is astonishing and truly beautiful. We are lucky to read his parables, through which we can sense the brightness of his thought and actually feel it. As for women... lovers... there were so many of them, but only three of them are mentioned by their name, whereas the others are covered deep by the tides of time. The thing that i find disturbing the most is their anonymity. I wish to see their faces, hear their stories and to touch their jewelry. I really want to know them. Thus was born the series of "King Solomon's Wives." About "The Queen of Sheba - The Fragrant". Queen of Sheba and king Solomon shared one of the most beautiful love stories in all times. The element of "sinfulness" that surrounded this unique affair decorated and spiced up the set of events. From the dawn of time, a bright mind and original thought considered to be highly appealing, and who if not queen of Sheba could have sensed it. It doesn't matter why she came to him (tease him with riddles, to check if what was said about his wisdom is correct and etc.), What truly matters is the outcome: A beautiful love story which became a legend... Nevertheless, the thing that interests me the most is what happened before her departure: "She gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, and a very great amount of fragrant spices and precious stones. Never again did such abundance of spices come in as that which the queen of Sheba gave King Solomon." (1 kings, 10:10) Not long after her visit began an unprecedented period of prosperity in Israel. In other words, the golden age of king Solomon began immediately after their romance. Thus it's interesting to wonder what in fact happened there? For me the answer to this question is quite symbolic: through the great amount of fragrant goods that she granted him she passed him their energies and her blessings. Only a remarkable personality has the ability to grant such blessings and to show this kind of gratitude for the short-lived moments of happiness. For me it will always be - "The Queen of Sheba - The Fragrant." This unique artwork will perfectly decorate the walls of your home or office, giving it a bright accent that is filled with charm and a sense of mystery.

Many years ago I found myself, a newcomer from Russia, in this amazing and sweeping place named Jerusalem. From the world of subtle pastel colors I fell straight into the juicy world of hot oil colors of the Middle East. I still remember the shock that I've experienced sensing those unfamiliar smells of the desert, the rough street sounds, and the intense flavors of well-seasoned food... Suddenly I realized that something is going on with my sense of time. When you live in a city that celebrates it's 5000 birthday, your attitude to history changes in many ways. The "ancient World" no longer feels like something that far away from you. Yesterday, the day before yesterday, a hundred years ago, two thousand years ago... they are all part of you now... you suddenly understand that you are an integral part of something very big, very real and that doesn't change substantially over time. Today I understand that this creative impulse that struck me and made me look for myself again, burst outside in my first days in this magical galaxy called Jerusalem. Today, my apartment windows are facing an archaeological site, the remains of the monastery from the Byzantine period which every morning sends me greetings from the sixth century A.D. Sometimes I think that the women that I create, their thoughts, the jewelry they're wearing, their emotions are not just my imagination, but some kind of greeting from them - to me - to us... And to tell you the truth? I find this encouraging! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or special requests. Inna.
