About The Artwork
The work is inspired by my manipulation of the materials intuitively, to find a good solution for this piece of wire as it engages with the sticks I painted first black, then pink, then gold, which is a symbolic color sequence also used by Louise Nevelson in many of her wood sculpture works. I hope the viewers will be captivated by the beauty of the colors and varied but similar vertical stick forms. I enjoyed working at this time with found natural and man-made objects in an intuitive, abstract manner that suits my inner artistic needs for an open ended platform in which to find a solution for the materials on hand.
