White cliffs of Dover Sculpture

This decorative sculpture is the result of two facts. First that I had this block of wood in my house for years. It was there for my two cats to use for their “manicure”. But they preferred the solid carpet. Second was a trip to England by ferry from Calais to Dover. Nearing the English coast the white cliffs of Dover were very impressing. Later, when I put the block of wood upright, the association came with the Dover rocks. The hollow in the log reminded me of a cave in a mountain cliff, a place to seek shelter for a sailboat. The end result reminds me of sun, sea and beach. A seascape for your interior to keep that holiday feeling.
