ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Brancusi's 'Bird in Space' inspired this. It it one of my first stone carvings in an exotic yellow Italian marble. This piece is polished on one side and honed on the other. It is a very fragile piece mounted on a small area at the bottom with a steel pin, while stable, great care is required when handling and mounting this pc. A special pedestal and client/site would be required to exhibit.

About Karl Geckler Karl Geckler is an architect and sculptor based in Chicago, IL Karl graduated with a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Virginia and has worked for the architectural firms SOM, GREC Architects and Taller de Arquitectura, as well as maintaining a private architectural practice. He studied stone carving in Pietrasanta, Italy and tool and die/welding in Chicago. His passion is the art of stone carving and he has taught hundreds of students this craft. He is currently focused on sculpture and furniture designs.
