Sculpture belonging to the series "citizens" made with fiberglass and painted with agricultural paint, synthetic, collage and markers. As it is usual in my exhibitions, I try to combine different disciplines, in this occasion painting, sculpture and digital art. In addition, some of the pieces that will be exposed are collaborations with different artists, fusing different artistic expressions. These series that I present to you include the 2 last ones I’ve been working on for the past two years, Citizens and Icons. All the works take the street, his codes as a common denominator. I go on analyzing the company in which we live, and I try to create a reflection of all the stimuli that we receive on a daily basis as we wander through our cities. in that I reflect all the stimuli that we receive every day on having walked along our cities. This way, mass media, social networks, and advertising mold us at their own whim, and have a direct influence in who we are. Our Citizens make their way in a world it’s hard to scape from, and they coexist in between a duality of emotions and ideas in which they wonder where to head to. They try to figure out whether to do what society imposes or what moral demands. This way, in Citizens we can find from the most material elements, such us money, to the most humanizing requirements, such as "te amo", "besa'm", " ma casa", "home", (“I loveyou”, “kiss me”, “home”, “man”), or the representation of human organs. Citizens represent us all; they are survivers of a society that creates individual with and standardized judgement, and shuts off the individuals who create and think by them selves. They are the reflexion of our torment and our joy, our dreams and our nightmares, who we are and who we would like to be.
