The sculpture "human flow DIA" consists of a total of 7 different types of wood: Maple, lime, sycamore, larch, pine, cherry and apple. The artist has firmly connected the individual slats of different lengths through a complex and time-consuming gluing technique. The hollow spaces between the slats allow a view into the interior, in some cases you can even see completely through them. In addition, the interplay of different types of wood and cavities creates a special dynamic that seems to be constantly in motion. "human flow" was derived from the aphorism of the Greek natural philosopher Heraclitus of Ephesus: "Pantha rhei" - Everything flows. Just as the water in a stream is always in motion, all things, living beings and phenomena in the world are always changing. Everything changes and evolves, nothing stays as it is. "DIA" comes from Greek mythology and is the name of one of the 79 moons of Jupiter known so far. The surface of this sculpture is finely polished and natural. The steel base measures 35 x 30 x 0.8 cm and has been waxed to prevent oxidation. Total weight: 33,6 Kg All sculptures by Manfred Hellweger are unique.

CREATIVE PROCESS AND INSPIRATION Manfred Hellweger questions the meaning and value of existence, the world and humanity. His distinctive sculptures are mainly made of wood, metal and stone. Hellweger uses simple shapes such as cubes, strips, boards, nails or shaped tubes. Using a variety of techniques, the individual parts are connected to create mostly figurative works that taper towards the base. Through this process, Manfred Hellweger's sculptures evoke a sense of vertical dissolution, symbolizing the perpetual change of our time. Everything changes and develops, nothing remains the same. Each piece embodies Hellweger's credo, “less of everything rather than more”, reflecting a philosophy of simplicity and contentment that extends beyond art.
