Sculpture: Enamel, Spray Paint, Plastic on Plastic, Wood, Steel, Other.
This assemblage was inspired by the need to prevent the flow of trash into the environment. Living by the beach, I collect debris that tourist leave behind. Most of what is left behind are broken plastic toys and beach chairs. This is a second nautical assemblage that uses an old piece of art as background and reclaimed material as foreground. I want the viewer to consider that upcycling plastic and debris as art is better then it getting into the environment. It is proven that microplastics are now found everywhere; including earthworms, table salt and human feces.
