“Art as Resistance, Color as Weapon.” SUSTAINABLE AND ECO-FRIENDLY ART Sculptures This series of artworks illustrates my artistic approach focused on sustainable art and environmental commitment. Each piece is created from recycled materials such as wood, paper, iron, or other elements destined for disposal or washed up by the seas and oceans! I transform these materials into unique works that question the memory of objects and their potential for rebirth. The expression of slender, harmonious forms reflects a quest for lightness, while embodying a strength rooted in the raw material. The subtly applied golden patina adds a touch of timeless elegance and highlights the original textures of the recycled materials, while reaffirming their new life. This series invites us to reflect on our relationship with consumption, recovery, and the hidden beauty of elements that we often consider useless. Through art, I aspire to convey the idea that anything can be transformed into an artistic creation!" Artist committed to ecology and the rescue of marine and terrestrial wildlife Born in Grenoble on 24 July .... into a family of artists, Christiane Guerry is a painter and sculptor who has lived and worked in Nice since 1989. MUSIC AND PAINTING Having grown up in an artistic environment with a tenor father and a painter and musician uncle, Christiane Guerry naturally turned towards the arts. At the age of 6, she went into a coma and came back with her double (her 1/2 sister who died at the age of 3). She experienced strange feelings and sensations (the Real and the Iréel mixed together, the duality of the person, good and evil, etc.). At the age of 18, Christiane Guerry worked with the painter Mercédes Henry for 3 years, who nicknamed her "The painter of colours" and advised her to take flight. PAINTER OF COLOURS Christiane Guerry's painting can be described as timeless, informal and obsessive. She makes everyday life her own, adding her own emotions, imagination and vision of the world by playing with materials and light, colours, shapes and movement. A solitary creator, she plays with the real and the rational to approach the unreal and the irrational! INTERNATIONAL SCOPE Since 1971, Christiane Guerry has taken part in numerous group and solo exhibitions in France and abroad, from Paris to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates.
