* Featured in "Women To Watch" by The Other Art Fair, Saatchi Art (May 2022) "Artworks inspired by Nature, Music and Poetry. My journal of emotions." Odilia Fu transforms calligraphy and ink painting into contemporary art. Her work is created intuitively, guided by emotion rather than predetermined form. Each piece begins as an inward listening—an act of self-exploration shaped by what she is feeling in the present moment. Nature, music and poetry often serve as catalysts, opening a pathway into the subconscious and allowing unspoken emotions to surface through color, movement, and texture. Her works capture emotional states—tension, suppression, stillness, resilience—as they arise and evolve. The process is both spontaneous and reflective. Collectively, her artworks function as a visual journal, documenting different stages of life and inner transformation. Each piece holds a moment in time, preserving the emotional truth of that experience. Through this ongoing practice, she seeks not resolution, but presence—allowing the work to stand as an honest record of being human. Her artworks were selected by the curator, and documented at the Netherlands Institute for Art History (Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie)- one of the largest art history centers in the world (2006). Her art project received endorsement from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II (2007). She also received letters of encouragement from President Barack Obama, the First Lady Michelle Obama for her letters, poem and artwork as an independent Chinese-American artist soliciting support for women artists during difficult economic times(2009). Her works can be found in private collections throughout Europe and the United States.
