Compositions are drawn upon specially prepared supports like aluminum or wood and then a ground is applied to them that is pigmented with natural minerals like: Malachite, Lapis Lazuli, Cobalt and various metal oxides. Casting a point source of light across the line-work will reveal the precious metals true color and sheen.
