She is a dancer and I have painted her twice before, once in pastel and more recently in acrylics, in ballet poses. She does make an excellent life model too. I use French Sennelier artist’s soft pastels on their own special card which is nice and abrasive so holds the medium well.

Born 1944, Chelmsford, England.I grew up in Falmouth but lived and worked as an artist in Truro from 1970 until I moved to Spain in 2001.I have been painting since I was 2 years old but I also have a love of nature, my animals, classical music and dance. In 2002 I moved to Spain and now live in the Parque Natural de Cabo de Gata in Almeria. The scenery around my home provides endless, beautiful subjects for landscape painting and I get inspiration from the dramatic landscapes of Andalucia and the old cities, towns and villages. I am also interested in portraiture and figure studies and my preferred medium for these is soft pastel.
