ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Lavender Fields was the first piece of my series of large-scale abstracts. I wanted to portray the child-like playfulness I felt when creating any work of art. I have been creating realistic portraits for so long, and was feeling constricted. From this need to break free and just play, I created a series of 8 abstracts with soft pastels and simple shapes, and playful splashes of bright color.
