Saskia Vugts is a recognized Dutch portrait painter, specializing in realistic oil portraits. Born in 1963, she began her career as a professional portrait painter after her education at the Academy of Fine Arts in Arendonk, Belgium. Her work is characterized by intense dynamics and a powerful expression, often in a photorealistic style. Saskia Vugts is known for her ability to capture the unique individual, paying close attention to the preparation and details of her paintings. Her portraits range from family portraits to business portraits, state portraits, and posthumous portraits. She has, among other works, painted a life-size state portrait of King Willem-Alexander commissioned by the municipality of Vught. Additionally, she has participated in the television program "Sterren op het Doek" by Omroep MAX, where she portrayed Dionne Stax. Saskia Vugts regularly exhibits her work and has a permanent exhibition space at the ETC Design Center Europe. She also maintains a strong presence on social media and online platforms where she shares her work and projects.
