About The Artwork
On a trip to Italy in the spring of 2023, my husband and I delighted in the various house colors – especially in the Venice area. Bright reds, blues, and yellows connected to one another makes for a beautiful photo. This painting is based on a photo of Burano, an island in the Venetian Lagoon considered among the ten most colorful places in the world. Rather than paint it realistically, I decided to give it a folk art feel. Original painting. Artist signed in the bottom right corner. Varnished (protection against UV and dust) Certificate of Authenticity included. No matter what I’ve done in my life, I’ve always tried to embrace my endless creativity and passion. It’s in my DNA. I have had a diverse career as a marketing and branding consultant, copywriter, graphic designer, author, professional speaker, singer-songwriter, educator, television show host, and nonprofit executive. I studied music and art as part of my education and I often use music to inspire my art. My goal is to transport people into my paintings, enabling them to engulf the mood, scene, and emotion through light, color, and dimension. Originally from Canada, I hold both an honors Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. I relocated to Arizona in 2004, becoming a U.S. citizen in 2014. I continue to grow as an artist and enjoy sharing my work with an expanding audience.
