ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Acrylic for fast drying and ease of modification. I work very fast so the medium suits me well. Must be my Catholic upbringing and other experiences that I added this one to my huge Biblical series. Will be showing this at the Ozark, Al. public library soon. Shows were never my main interest. Creation is the key to a satisfied artist. Each time i work it is to make an image unique to any other I have attempted. There is another painting on the back, Also unique but it eludes me at the moment. Upside down it is the Crucifixion of St. Peter. After 13 years being with him Henry Boxer Gallery is featuring me as anew arrival. Henry is one of the elite Outsider/Visionary dealers in the world. I`m not a Young man anymore. Off and On been doing this type of Art for over 40 YRS. Early on I was somewhat consumed with tapping my subconscious. I became more serious again in the early 80`s. never any formal drawing lessons. So, I`m told that I don`t realize how troubling my work may seem to some people. So Legally Blind in my right eye. And Left handed so I very much inhabit the more abstract side in the head. So then how to dig deeper? For over 40 yrs I`ve practiced forms of Self Hypnosis. Throughout the Work this has been an important influence. So then we add certain mental categories, add Paint, or ink, or pastels then?
