With a lifelong passion for art, I only embarked on my professional painting journey after earning my degree in design. It was during this period that I encountered the Fauvists, whose vibrant colours and expressive brushstrokes captivated my imagination. Their fearless approach to colour liberated my own artistic practice, leading me to embrace bolder, more dynamic palettes in my work and it is the essence of their philosophy that continues to resonate throughout my creations still. My fascination with colour and form not only drives my artistic endeavours but also informs my teaching of life drawing, where I encourage students to explore their own connections to colour and expression. Based in the picturesque countryside of South Wales, I primarily work with acrylics and oils, crafting pieces that reflect both my inner vision and the world around me. My enduring obsession with cows serves as a recurring theme, allowing me to delve into the beauty and character of these remarkable creatures through my art. For my portrait and life drawing, I often turn to charcoal and pastel, appreciating the spontaneity these mediums offer.
