ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"DREAM OF THE PELICAN", oil on canvas, 100x100x2cm/39 "x39" x0,8", not framed. A few years ago, I started painting a picture of a proud pelican spreading its wings, poised to take off into the blue sky. But somehow the figure of the bird remained frozen in that moment, as if unwilling to fully detach from the canvas. For a long time, I did not know how to complete the work. And as often happens in the creative process - a new vision appeared, but found no empty surface on which to materialize. One day, I looked again at the unfinished pelican painting from back then. In a spontaneous gesture, I completely covered the canvas with white paint, to make way for curiosity about a new composition. The following night, I began crafting an image of a young woman amid golden sunflowers. When I woke up in the morning, I could hardly believe my eyes: For between the blooms, the figure of the proud bird was gradually emerging again, just as I had first envisioned it years before - its wings ready to launch into the sky. So from what seemed like lost work and a fresh start, a painting emerged that I henceforth called "The Pelican's Dream" - a work brought unexpectedly back to life through the power of imagination.

I don´t remember when exactly my artistic life began. I only remember standing in front of a display board with a handwritten invitation to an art school. Since then, not a single day has gone by without me designing, painting and drawing. I am currently a lecturer at an art school, passing on my acquired skills to the next generation. I spend my free time in my studio, where i can express my thoughts in an artistic way. One of my favorite subjects is the human being in all its diversity. I deal with portraits and figurative works. In doing so, i do not limit myself to one particular style.
