ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"...what really interests me is what i call the private of the private or better, "the super private". You know, that hidden part which most of the time we don't declare even to ourselves. I've always been fascinated by the impulse of the human being, because it has no race or gender, because it is completely free from society rules and there is no right or wrong. Look, all my subjects are people with whom i have established a deep relationship, people that i have dedicated a large amount of my time to me and that have lived significant experiences with. During this process I tend to push the boundaries of my relationships in order to get in this "super private" space that usually is hidden by layers of dignity, fear, decency, expectations. And it's in that precise place that i give birth to my artwork..."

I was born and raised in Italy, in a very small village near the Slovenian border. Here i spent most of my childhood, playing alone in the fields. There isn't much to do in this little slice of the world, life flows at a slower pace and the huge suburbs chain you in daily routine. I actively began to paint at the age of 13 and it has always been a way for me to escape from my immense solitude, to understand the world around me and its dynamics. I continued to paint actively and successfully, but unfortunately, despite big fights with my family, I was denied the opportunity to undertake artistic studies. Thus I began a very long period of artistic experimentation which allowed me to refine my style and to orient myself more and more towards figurative painting and the vast theme of humans. I'm passionate about the logics that lies at the base of the human behavior and my artistic research explores in a vertical way the very private part of the self. Over the years, through pictures, installations and environmental art, my work has as main themes the inner private, the perception and the plurality of the “Self”. My work offers a non-judging vision of the subject while interacting with objects of daily life, lonesome, communicating with other bodies and in always different environments. The intent is to immortalize the snapshot of the condition of being, spotlighting its plurality, its inconsistencies, its recondite aspects. Combining images and environments which deconstruct perception, i imagines and create a direct and concrete relationship between the work and its observer. During an interview:"...what really interests me is what i call the private of the private or better, "the super private".
