I painted this picture after talking with my customer. She wanted some picture for her bedroom, but she didn't know what kind of picture she wanted and she didn't have any ideas. The paintings I had available at that time did not match the color of her interior. I learned that she is quite an anxious person and suffers from panic attacks. She told me that she felt defenseless. Also during the conversation, she told me that the only thing that calms her down was working with irises in her garden. In addition, she told me that she loved abstract paintings. We parted on the fact that I would draw something that I think would suit her, and in the future, we will decide if she wants this picture or not. I chose the theme of irises because I realized that in addition to being her favorite flowers, they also had a therapeutic effect on her and helped fight panic attacks. I wanted to protect her from her fears, so I drew lace over the irises, which, like a light blanket, would wrap her up in moments of anxiety. I chose the abstract style because she said it was her favorite style. When the client saw the finished painting, she fell in love with it immediately and did not want to redo or add anything. Now, this picture hangs in her bedroom and periodically this client calls me and thanks me for the pleasant and calm energy that she feels from the picture.
