About The Artwork
Lyle is here to provide us with a reassuring smile during difficult times. Hand-painted on quarter-inch MDF. Since 2015, I’ve bred over 800 Lyles in captivity but I’m happy to say that each one has been successfully released into the wild. They vary in size, from baby Lyles at 5 inches, to 8 foot high giant Lyles. I’ve brought large herds of them to the Other Art Fair in London, LA and Brooklyn over the last 18 months and they are now spreading a bit of comfort and happiness in homes, office and public spaces around the world. This is Lyle #847. I made him on the 31st of March 2020, and he is part of a series of 3ft high Lyles I’m offering exclusively through saatchiart.com. For this series, each Lyle is numbered and date-stamped on the front.

Ralph Lazar chronicles his own life and the world around him. He contemporaneously documents current affairs by creating art in real-time as the news unfolds, and combines this with a stream-of-consciousness self-expression inspired by people, words, music and travel.
