ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was inspired by a trip to Manhattan and the way that a city changes through it's people and weathering. A quiet doorway displays a unique set of patterns and overlapping communication that intertwine with the weathering it receives from seasonal changes and pollution. Ultimately, the message on the door, "Lost" asks if anyone is out there and listening. I chose a unique handmade TwinRocker paper with a unique deckle edge. The surface texture is random with being handformed, lending the surface of the subject even more texture. It is highly recommended that the artwork be framed as a float—attached to an acid-free backing and housed in a shadowbox type of frame to show off the unique quality of the paper and that the image is painted to the edge.
