ABOUT THE ARTWORK

I paint abstract paintings when I finish painting with oil paints. I like to move away from classical forms and immerse myself in colors. 2020 was a very difficult year for me, and its problems will be with me for a long time. I haven't even picked up paint in more than 2 months.I painted this picture right after my daughter's portrait. We haven't seen each other in a year. Our beloved dog died after a long treatment. Without me. My daughter is in another country-my clothes, my paints, and my easels are there, but the borders are closed. And I wanted joy. I turned on Frank Sinatra and heard my favorite song: "Luck Be a Lady tonight!" And the colors found themselves. Frank Sinatra and Michael Bubble were the creators of this picture of joy and lightness with me. This picture can give a great mood.Believe me.

My name is Marika Jam, I'm an artist. I was born in Siberia, in the large city of Irkutsk, near the great Lake Baikal. My whole family is drawing. My father studied at the art school. My uncle, being a resident of the village, was able to enter the Leningrad Academy of Arts - the most prestigious educational institution in Russia for the artists of my homeland - in 1941, but was killed during a raid by fascist Germany bombers near Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). My parents gave me an excellent art education - I graduated from the Central Regional School of Arts. I got a classical education as an artist. My father has an excellent library in the field of art and the largest collection of philokartists in the field of art in our city. I studied the history of fine art, and the history of music and theater. We studied various art techniques, its styles and directions. I studied for seven years. My works were published in publications in Japan and the Czech Republic - which was a huge achievement for the USSR. Also, a documentary plot was shot about me for Regional TV as a talented young artist. I received a diploma with honors and was invited to continue my education already at the Irkutsk College of Arts without exams. However, I decided to finish school and only then decide on my future profession. At that moment, Perestroika began, the USSR collapsed, the country was in a state of devastation. I had to forget about the career of an artist. We were practically starving then. I started to work a lot. She got married, gave birth to a daughter. I made an excellent career in business, worked as a director of a large car dealership, was engaged in the development and strategy of teams. I have traveled and travel a lot - and it is always a journey into the world of fine art. This is the architecture and museums of all cities and countries of the world. From Egypt to South Korea. My travels is a map of museums. My father always wanted to visit this world and I fulfilled his dreams with pleasure. I started painting again. Now I live in 2 countries - this is Russia and New Zealand. My daughter lives in New Zealand. This country is so beautiful in its nature that every day I live here is a miracle. My life was not easy, but it is incredibly interesting. My inspiration is the world around me. These are people, these are buildings and nature. I have many favorite artists.
