ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Russian folktale Magic pipe Magical flute As I heard a fairy tale, I tell you so. In ancient times there were husband and wife. And their daughter grew handy. The girl took them all: both in height, and in favor, and in pleasure. Looking at her, people rejoiced: the girl was friendly, affectionate, courteous with everyone. I was in a hurry to help everyone as I could. But misfortune befell, trouble came. The girl’s mother died. How much, not enough time has passed - my father married a widow. And the widow brought her daughter to the house. And there were four in the family. To live an orphan is joyless, but with his stepmother it has become even worse. She was undead, amused her native daughter, and she disliked her stepdaughter from the first day. An orphan got up with roosters, washed her face with tears, and managed until the midnight. And she spun, and wove, and walked on the water, and carried firewood, and milked cows. And the angry woman only shouted: - You are a wacky, wretch! I got a breadman on my head! Once the father discovered the chest that he had left from his first wife. And in the chest there is a murderer, trimmed with fur, and a kokoshnik, humbled with pearls, and morocco boots, and a gold ring with an expensive pebble, and the clothes are different. “We will divide equally, and our daughters will have a dowry,” said the father. And the envious stepmother with her daughter harbored a black thought. “To divide that wealth into two parts,” the stepmother whispered to her daughter. - Yes, with such a dowry we will find a merchant's son. You will not marry a peasant, you will marry a man. Just don't blunder! It took some time after that conversation, the girls gathered berries to go. And father jokingly says to them: - Well, who among you will bring more berries, that one will get a little more when dividing the dowry. Girls walk through the woods, whine, take berries. And as it became ill, they agreed on a clearing. The stepmother’s daughter looked - fathers of the light, the old daughter’s basket is full, and she’s nothing at all, only on the bottom! Here and recalled the mother of speech: do not divide the dowry into two parts ... And as they passed through the swamp, the stepmother's daughter grabbed a basket of berries from her stepsister and pushed her from the crossbeams-perches into the bottomless swamp. “I am dying, my dear sister,” the girl prayed, “help me!” - I will help you! Tony, you won’t get out of this swamp. And all the dowry will go to me alone! - shouted the stepmother's daughter. I got over the swamp and ran home. Dear, I poured berries into my body - clean, large, one to one, and buried my stepsister’s basket in moss. - Good girl, my good mind! - met her mother. - Look, old man, how many berries my daughter scored! “Why didn't you come together?” - asked the father. “We parted with her,” answered the stepmother’s daughter, “I heard a whack, a whack, but no one answered me; I think I used to pick up a basket and went home. - Well, where is she, daughter, before you manage. I fell asleep somewhere, so I did not hear you! - the woman laughed. The evening passed and the night passed. In the morning the old man got up early. “We have to go looking,” he says, “it’s obvious that the trouble was shaking.” Gathered the neighbors. They went into the forest. And the woman’s daughter is with them. “Here,” he says, “we parted and never saw each other again.” They walked, walked day from morning to evening, and so returned with nothing. Summer is running out. An old wanderer is walking along those paths. I stepped on the crossbeams, and a grass pipe grows in a sweeping place. The old man cut the pipe, put it to his lips and only blew it as he hears: he played, sang the pipe, lamented plaintively: - play, play, grandfather, Play, play, darling. We were two stepsisters And they ruined me For the red berries Yes, for mother’s dowry Drowned in a rotten swamp! And then the old wanderer came late that evening to that village, asked to go to the last hut, just to the house where the orphan girl was lost. After dinner, the old wanderer spoke: - Not far from your village I cut a pipe. So funny: she sings, pronounces. Take it, master, blow this pipe! As soon as the owner blew into the pipe, she spoke, she sang: - Play, play, my father, Play, play, darling. We were two stepsisters And they ruined me For the red berries Yes, for mother’s dowry Drowned in a rotten swamp! The old man changed face. He handed the pipe to his stepdaughter: - Well, you play! As soon as she brought the pipe to her lips, when she began to play, the pipe began to sing: - Play, play, sister-in-law, Play, play, lider, Play, play, gas chamber! You killed me Drowned in a rotten swamp For the red berries Yes, for mother’s dowry Deprived of life! Father rushed for witnesses. A girl-lider, and at the same time her mother, an evil woman, were tied up and sent to guard. And father with witnesses and an old wanderer ran into the swamp. Searched, searched and soon pulled out a girl. They washed her, ritualized. Then she opened her eyes, said: - Oh, how long I slept so much I saw in a dream! Do not hold, dear father, neither the women-lodike, nor the daughter-villains. Neither you nor me will live from them. The father forgave the joy of the evil woman and the stepdaughter-villain, drove them out of the yard: - Go where you came from!

I was born in the village Nahoryany, near Dubno, Ukraine. Live in Dubno all my life. .I work in different styles and genres using oil and aquarelle paints, gouache, and also make graphics. Mostly my works are book illustrations. How do i draw my drawings? I make grimaces near the mirror when looking for a needed emotion. I love silence. Like working in the night when the city is asleep. I strive to create expressive images, convey emotions, human behavior. Also I love and paint nature: landscapes, flowers. It is important for me to know that one can find interest in my works, so that I would know my work was not in vain.
