Elena Stauffer, born in 1980, lives and works in Thun, a beautiful Alpine town in Switzerland. Even as a child, she wanted to become a painter and attend art school. She made her portfolio in scientific drawing and painting, screen printing and plastic design at the School of Art and Design in Bern. She did the systematic art training at the Moscow Correspondence University of Fine Arts, specialising in Visual Arts, which she mastered with "Excellent". In her work, she looks for new aesthetics, combines the academic with the modern, dreams with reality, fills it with her personal experiences and gives her works a philosophical meaning. My painting is inspired by people, history and natural beauty. My pictures celebrate colour, shape and texture, meditate on the relationship between light, shadow and atmosphere. The varied layers of the structure, the thin and pasty, in certain places the canvas deliberately left unpainted, the change between strong colours and soft tones, between dream and reality - this achieves the desired character of my works, the way I want them to look, as I experienced them, as I felt it, my inner voice while I worked on this painting. I hope to evoke a feeling of amazement and awe through my work and to invite the viewer to think about the beauty of the world around us". Many of her works have found their home all over the world, in Switzerland, Italy, Norway, USA, Montenegro, Germany, France.
