ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Burano, Venezia, Italia Many have come and photographed and gone. Some remain. They dry the laundry in the wind, water the geraniums and wait for quiet dusk to come. A rainbow of washed away pastels and freshly painted brights. As the boats bob and the seas rise, I can't help but wonder of tomorrow. Painting done in the Veneto in Italy. Acrylic and ink on high quality canvas. UV protective varnish finish. The artwork does not require a frame as the painting continues around the sides of the canvas. Artwork is signed on front and back of painting.

"I paint as a means of making sense of the world. Line-work weaves through my canvas as a narrative, relating the parts and taking root. Water is a dominant feature in my art, as the sea has been my place of respite and replenishment since my young self. I’m drawn to unravelling the connection we have with our environments. I hope to inspire others to delight in and cherish our home.” Kelly Allison's artistic inclination flourished during her design and architectural studies in Canada, the UK and Sweden. Originally from Vancouver, she has been living abroad for many years, continues to travel extensively and today lives in France. This diverse cultural background, along with her current observations of the natural world, inform her artwork. Kelly uses acrylic, oil pastel & ink as mediums, using nature's curves & village lines to tell her story. Kelly sells her works worldwide.
