ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This Jade Buddha sits in the temple on Doi Suthep overlooking Chiang Mai, Thailand, where I live. I felt the need to commemorate having taken up meditation again, in this predominantly Buddhist country. This painting is unique in that it was painted on an unstretched polyester canvas which was accidentally somewhat melted on the back, although that doesn't effect the artwork. It was intended to be perhaps stretched or mounted as a scroll, which would of course alter the dimensions accordingly. I do not intend to sell this original painting until it has been properly varnished, which may involve bringing it back to the states.
