ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting was inspired by my many walks through Middleton Place Garden and Plantation in Charleston, South Carolina. Early morning was one of my favorite times as the early dawn weaves it's light through the massive oak trees on the plantation ground. The spanish moss seems to glow and the earth wakes up with the chorus of birdsong and the light of new day. Loose impressionist brushstrokes and palette knife work capture the prism of light. I always work in oil paints as I love their creamy texture and longevity. Painting is wired and ready to hang.
