"Just a red beetle" I invite you to see more photos and video of this painting on my Instagram baskal_art Why is my subject a beetle? Several insect species are endangered on Earth. Insects are more vulnerable than other living beings and their lives are highly dependent on specific climatic conditions and habitats. This is one of my new works as part of the Void 2099 project, which is dedicated to archiving the insect species. This painting is done in mixed media, the main object of the painting is a red beetle, painted in oil, the background has a relief structure, made of ecological materials and covered in black pigment, and depicted embedded in 'now-cooled lava rocks'.
