ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Making this puma oil painting I tried to depict depiction of the sleek and powerful wildcat, Puma, in oil paints. The Puma, also known as the mountain lion or cougar, is a big cat found in the Americas. It is more abstract interpretation, using bold colours and shapes to convey the animal's energy and power. In conclusion, Puma oil painting is a captivating art form that allowed me to showcase the beauty and strength of this magnificent animal. Painted in a abstract style, Puma oil paintings have the power to inspire and captivate viewers, reminding us of the majesty of the natural world. Oil painting is a technique that involves the use of pigments mixed with a drying oil, usually linseed oil, to create an artwork. Oil paints offer rich and vibrant colors that allow artists to create a range of textures and effects, making them a popular choice for painting wildlife subjects such as the Puma.

Irina Biunger was born in the beautiful cultural city Saint-Petersburg in Russia in 1983. Irina started to paint when she was 10 years old. She attended Art School in Saint-Petersburg and successfully finished it after 4 years with best grades. She participated in different artist competitions with various success. After that she decided to go other way than artist and finished University for Finance in Saint-Petersburg and later a Finance Master Program at the Potsdam University, Germany. But all the time she never stopped to paint and draw and visited various art classes by the classical Russian artists. In 2010-2011 she attended the Art Academy in Saint-Petersburg and participated there in drawing classes. In 2012 she started to paint with oil and she fell in love with this material. Most of her paintings are in realistic style with a lot of details and oil paints are the best choice in this case. Since 2015 she lives in Germany with her family and a lovely cat, Channel. She creates all her works in her studio in Stuttgart using professional paints and canvases. She never stops learning and visits different courses at the Stuttgart Free Art Academy as well as many online art courses, for example great courses “Colour” and “Light” in Watercolour Academy. Irina is a nature inspired artist. She loves painting animals as it is a way of accessing the natural world. Animals are very individual with their own characteristics and features. She tries to find out the spirit of these nice beings and show it on the paintings. Watching the animal paintings can teach human beings the skills that they do not have, for example great attention by hares or calmness by big cats. Look into their eyes and feel their power and serenity.
