I was inspired to create this painting because I wasn't able to leave the landlocked misery of Ohio in the winter to go to Florida or somewhere with a beautiful beach during COVID. This painting represents the absolute peace I feel when I snorkel and/or just wade in the ocean. The rings are symbols of the bond I feel to nature and, in particular, the ocean. I have a strong emotional connection to the Atlantic Ocean because we went to Florida every year when I was a child and because my mother felt the same love and sense of peace when sitting on the beach. Ever since she died from cancer in 2007, I have to visit the ocean at least once a year in order to renew that connection. I feel lost without it. I am hoping to finally be able to go back to Mom's favorite, Cocoa Beach, this coming spring! I've been selling my artwork for almost 10 years at local art shows and online throughout the U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, South America and previously in Russia (2 paintings in 2018 before their invasion of Ukraine).

Lynne was born in raised in West Virginia and couldn't wait to leave her southern roots for New York City upon graduation from college. She loved the energy and culture of New York but ended up moving to Los Angeles when her ex-husband took a job with Metal Blade Records. After her divorce, she moved to Columbus, Ohio, so that her children could be closer to her family in WV. She currently enjoys the tranquility and lower-stressed life in Ohio where she spent over 10 years in corporate America working in the banking industry and as a paralegal for one of the largest law firms in Ohio. She was also an English teacher on the middle school and college level for 7 or 8 years. She never felt comfortable in corporate America, so when she was downsized from Chase Bank in 2015, she decided to take advantage of the time off by selling some of her artwork at local art shows and flea markets. When a woman drove 45 miles to buy one of her black and white paintings at a local art show after seeing an online ad, Lynne decided to also start selling her work online. By 2018, her art business had grown to the point that she was able to reduce her hours to part-time at an online real estate company. While she did take art classes in high school and college and a few classes after college, she has honed her craft outside a classroom for the most part. She has always had a very strong sense of composition whether she's rearranging furniture in her living room or trying to balance color ratios in a painting. Balancing color and texture is a very strong feature of her work. She also loves exploring different textures created by using full body acrylic paints with various mediums like Floetrol and Liquitex. She also greatly enjoys mixing various mediums like latex and acrylic paint as well as spray paint and oil based paint. Her work has sold throughout the U.S., Canada, the UK, France, Switzerland, Germany, Dubai, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, Chile, Argentina and she sold several paintings in Russian (in 2018 before their invasion of Ukraine but her work is no longer available in Russia).
