ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Inspired by the dramatic color field work of Helen Frankenthaler, this is an abstracted view of a farmhouse under a red stormy sky. The impact of the painting is created with bold color and a tension between the threatening sky and the welcoming light of the barn door. There is a positive feeling of shelter from danger within the painting. The painting is acrylic on canvas. Wrapped around the edges of the painting the canvas is painted a deep brown to set the work off from the surroundings. The surface is varnished with a semi-gloss finish to bring out the bold colors.

My art is about remembering things . . . in my own way . . . and "disremembering" everything else. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, my artistic career began at an early age when I began painting with my mother on Sunday afternoons. Surrounded by art books, paintings and sculpture at home, I always knew I wanted to be a painter.
