Thank you for visiting my Saatchi Art website, and I hope you enjoy my works.
I am Misako Chida, a Japanese artist born in 1972 in Yokohama, Japan. I started painting on my own at the age of 30. Since 1999, I have been living in Dalian, China, where I have been painting and exhibiting my works.
Over the years, my artistic journey has explored a wide range of subjects, including landscapes, women, flowers, spiritual themes, and abstract expression. Currently, my focus mainly lies in contemporary abstract art, where I can most freely express emotions, sensations, and imagination through color, movement, and atmosphere.
For me, art is not the final destination; rather, it is a wonderful tool that allows me to freely express my thoughts and emotions. Although my works may appear diverse in style — sometimes soft and delicate, sometimes bold and energetic — they all come from the same root and share the same intention: to create artworks that gently uplift the heart, awaken sweet memories, and invite viewers into a world of emotional warmth and joyful imagination.
What matters most to me is the feeling that naturally reaches others through the work. I hope to connect with people who resonate with these emotions, and in some way contribute to bringing warmth and positivity into society.
My favorite time is when I am facing the canvas and freely playing with colors. It is a process of continuous experimentation, where I pour my imagination onto the surface. I always enjoy the unexpected outcomes that appear along the way, and I continue to create new works with this sense of discovery.
My art is included in private and corporate collections around the world.
