Sleeping Woman Nude #2 Print

While I had a studio on the lower east side of Manhattan, I hired a model on a weekly basis (and invited other artists to come and draw with me) The Fabriano watercolor paper that I used was in a small size, 2.5 x 3.75 inches and is acid-free. It has a beautiful gently deckled edge which makes it easy to either frame with a mat that covers all the edges or to mount it on a board so that the edges are displayed. The image seen in the first photo is cropped just inside the deckled edge of the paper. You will get the entire range of the image that you see in the first photo even if you put it behind a mat window. And if you mount it, you will get a tiny bit extra including the deckled edge, shown in the third photo, mounted on a 4 x 6 inch mat board. Please see all photos. When you order this watercolor, you will receive the 4x6 mat board shown in the photo. I enjoy painting nudes especially on a small scale as it creates an intimacy with the subject for myself and it draws the viewer in for an intimate experience with the subject. I painted these nudes with watercolor as a way to go beyond the more conventional pencil on paper. (Although I love drawing the figure with pencil! There will more of those coming as well!) Watercolor has an immediacy and freshness to it that makes it a pleasure to paint with.
