ABOUT THE ARTWORK

"Тhe big blue Morpho butterfly" What do you thinking about this butterfly now? In ancient times, the Brazilian Indians called these butterflies a piece of sky that fell to the ground. The main secret of the beauty of Morpho butterflies is the special structure of the scales, each of which has the shape of a lens, the surface of each scale is transparent and freely transmits light, while the lower one, thanks to the pigment melanin, is darkened, so it reflects light like a mirror. On the way back, light refracts at different angles and "splits" (in physics it is called interference, and we call this phenomenon the rainbow). Because of these lighting effects, the butterfly's wings have a metallic sheen that goes up and down depending on the angle from which you see the insect. The painting is made in mixed technique on black canvas.

Hello! I am artist living in Rome, Italy. My works reflect the way how we perceive nature and interact with it. I embrace the philosophy which considers humankind as an integral part of nature rather than one trying to dominate it. My paintings express my commitment for a healthy ecosystem and the inseparable connections between a human being and nature. Using vivid but natural colors I create a special place and time that carries the viewer on a new existential journey. My aim is to give an emotional and psychological experience to the viewer through my artworks by creating a dialogue between the fragility of the human nature and the natural world to encourage people's respectful behavior towards our environment.I believe that art projects that address ecological topics can really promote a more environmentally responsible way of thinking. And I would like to be part of this process. You’re welcome to take a trip through my artworks on Instagram and feel free to contact me on social networks. Thank you!
