Born in 1983 in Cincinnati, Ohio. I never painted anything until my son had me buy him some canvas and paint so he could try his hand at art. He didn't like it and the $400 I spent on supplies were wasting away. I did my first painting in June 2022. I found more purpose in my life through painting. I am a Stage 3 NSCLC survivor and was diagnosed in June 2020. After chemo and the surgeries I was struggling to enjoy my remission. Cancer was always looming in the distance, and through art I found relief to fill my internal void. I found myself thinking of painting when I wasn't painting. I never felt at ease no matter what I was doing. I could never relax, and enjoy myself. When I paint I'm happy, and I feel like this might be a way to leave some kind of positive legacy. I sell cars for a living and have for almost 20 years now. I love to paint because I don't have any pressure. No one wanted me to paint, but me, and with a steady income I'm not forced to paint anything that I don't want to paint. If I had to paint for a living I'd probably not like it then. I have no formal training, and have a hard time when I do try to learn. I love making simple, vibrant, and colorful pieces of art that make people say "WTF IS THAT?!" I like my art more then anyone does. Some people have asked me "Did Your Son Paint That?" or jeer and laugh when they see my work. Some people love them though, and I hope you are one of them.
