ABOUT THE ARTWORK
It took fifteen years before my husband and I eventually were able to take our long anticipated trip to Hawaii in 2018. When we got there, we found out a hurricane was coming through. This is very rare in Hawaii since the island chain is isolated and right in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. We decided we better try and see the Na Pali coast from an inland road that went up along a canyon and eventually ended at some nice viewpoints of the Kalalau Valley, half way up the western coast of Kauai. The fog was heavy and we couldn't see the view at first until it lifted and I was in awe of how beautiful this place was. I took many photos while there and decided to create a painting so I could enjoy the view we saw that day when we were on Kauai. It is a magical place I will never forget.
