An Otomi woman holds a bouquet of baby's breath. The Otomi people live in the highlands of Central Mexico. The cacti behind her are known as "maguey", they can grow up to 8ft. The Otomi woman is wearing the traditional embroidered blouse and the rebozo or Mexican shawl.

My work is inspired by Mexico and its culture. I love to tell and represent the myths, legends, and ways of life of pre-Hispanic people such as the Aztecs, and Maya. Also, today’s ethnic groups, alive and vibrant. I moved to the United States after marrying my Connecticut-born husband. I started showing my paintings at local galleries and getting mentions in newspapers. In Connecticut, I discovered a new life. Seascapes, sailboats, lighthouses, whales, and blue-eyed people started appearing in my work. Later I found Native Americans. They are stunning.
