ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Painted in support of Bill HR 1373 which protects the Grand Canyon's watershed, ecosystem, and cultural heritage from uranium mining and its permanent impacts. While painting this raven sitting stoically on the rim of the Grand Canyon West, I wanted all the colors from every observation and memory of this place to be included. The people, wildlife, weather, and mystery of the canyon walls are all calls to reverence. To the people of the Grand Canyon, the Raven is held as a sacred being, considered a messenger, who speaks the language of the people. A bringer of truth. Dedicated to the People of the Tall Pines and The People of the Blue-Green Waters.
