Document of Authenticity included. ‘Venus’ is part of the Chateau d’Arte series, a series of monumental paintings in which personal stories intertwine with old myths. Created in the tranquility of the corona pandemic, these are my painterly Grand Cru's that show a world full of visual adventure. I put the paint on the canvas in active gestures, like I'm dancing. These canvasses are adventures, in which the mind can wander and the eye is wondering. It is a painting with a great gesture and fine details. In the upper corners there are little human and angels playing with the corona virus. I started with a little man who is farting a corona virus. The corona-crisis is also a chance for new ideas born out of the chaos, like this Venus. For me as an artist, the coronapandemic gave me time to focus on this new series. In the mythology, Venus was the goddess of love, sex, beauty, and fertility. She was born in the foam of the sea. This Venus is born in the silence of the chaos of the corona crisis.
