About The Artwork
This work was inspired by a trip to a wildlife preserve in Florida. I hoped to capture serenity and calm of nature soaking in the shade. This semitropical theme utilizes textures and techniques achievable in watercolor. The background is strong color dripped into a wet surface to allow the paint colors to mingle and change. The dark backdrop is meant to help focus on the bird itself.
